Not to be used in:-

Known sensitivity or allergy to any ingredient. This medicine should not be used if you are allergic to one or any of its ingredients. Please inform your doctor or pharmacist if you have previously experienced such an allergy. If you feel you have experienced an allergic reaction, stop using this medicine and inform your doctor or pharmacist immediately.

Pregnancy and Breastfeeding: –
Certain medicines should not be used during pregnancy or breastfeeding. However, other medicines may be safely used in pregnancy or breastfeeding providing the benefits to the mother outweigh the risks to the unborn baby. Always inform your doctor or pharmacist if you are pregnant or planning a pregnancy, before using any medicine.

Side effects:-

Medicines and their possible side effects can affect individual people in different ways. The following are some of the side effects that are known to be associated with this medicine. Because a side effect is stated here, it does not mean that all people using this medicine will experience that or any side effect.

Skin reactions and generalised allergic reactions to Chlorhexidine may occasionally occur.

If you experience these or any other reactions not mentioned that could be associated with this medicine, stop using the product and consult a medical professional.

First aid measures:-

Contact with skin – Remove contaminated clothing. Wash affected area with plenty of soap and water. Seek medical attention if irritation persists.

Contact with eyes – If substance has got into eyes, immediately wash out with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes. Irrigate eyes thoroughly whilst lifting eyelids. Seek medical attention if irritation persists.

Ingestion – Do not induce vomiting.

Inhalation – If high concentrations are inhaled, and any irritation is experienced, remove to fresh air.

Accidental release measures:-

Personal Precautions – Wear protective clothing example Hand gloves.

Environmental Precautions:-

Do not allow to enter public sewers and watercourses. Clean Up Actions. Absorb spillage in suitable inert material. Place in appropriate container. Flush spill area with copious amounts of water.

How does it work?

This preparation contains chlorhexidine gluconate in the form of an alcoholic solution. Chlorhexidine gluconate is an antiseptic effective against a wide range of bacteria, yeasts, some fungi and viruses. It is most active at neutral or alkaline conditions. Its activity is reduced by the presence of blood or body fluids. It binds strongly to skin, mucosa and other tissues and is therefore poorly absorbed. It is used routinely as an antiseptic hand-washing preparation and as a skin cleanser for patients undergoing surgery.

What is it used for?

Broad Spectrum Antiseptic, Particularly Effective Against Bacteria and Fungi. Suitable For Pre- and Post-Operative Skin Antisepsis. Ideal for Routine Hand Washing and Equipment Disinfection where Infection Control is always of a Critical Importance in maintaining good health standard.

Warning!

Avoid contact of this medicine with the eyes and the moist membranes lining the inside of certain parts of the body, e.g. mouth, nasal passages (mucous membranes). Rinse with cold water if accidental contact occurs. For external use ONLY*

Precautions:-

Avoid contact with the eyes. In patients with head or spinal injuries or a perforated ear drum, the benefit or use in pre-operative preparation should be evaluated against the risk of contact. Avoid use in body cavities. Avoid contact with brain, meninges, and middle ear.
